Este es un resúmen de estadísticas obtenido por el periódico Reforma para sus lectores sobre el grave problema que deben afrontar diariamente las autoridades del Gobierno del Distrito Federal, específicamente de la Secretaría de Seguridad Pública y Procuraduría General de Justicia para proteger una de las ciudades mas atractivas, grandes y complejas que existen en el mundo: la Ciudad de México. La Colonia Centro, cuyas calles son patrulladas por 23,000 policías de distintos sectores encabeza el enlistado de las 10 zonas mas peligrosas del D. F. De Enero a Septiembre 2007, la PGJDF recibió 4,493 denuncias de esta colonia.
La Delegación más vigilada es Cuauhtémoc. Cuenta con 3,636 policías que deben cuidar 521,348 habitantes. A pesar de esto, ocupa el 2o. lugar de incidencia delictiva, superada solamente por Iztapalapa.
Hasta el 15 de Diciembre, 2007 en Iztapalapa se cometieron 3,700 robos de vehículos con igual número de denuncias que así lo confirman. El promedio diario de robo en esta zona de la ciudad es de 70.2 según datos de la PGJDF.
Con el retiro del comercio ambulante del Perímetro A, el índice delictivo se redujo un 22 % de acuerdo a la SSPDF. Del 12 de Octubre al 18 de Diciembre, 2007 se detuvieron 527 delincuentes, la mayoría por robo a transeúnte y narcomenudeo.
En 2007, la PGJDF documentó 112 secuestros en la Ciudad de México. La mayor parte de estos ocurrieron en la Delegaciones Iztapalapa y Gustavo A. Madero. De Enero a Diciembre 2007 101 personas fueron consignadas por este delito y 12 bandas delincuenciales fueron desintegradas
Estas dos delegaciones son las que en los últimos meses reflejaron los índices más bajos de índice delictivo. De las dos, Milpa Alta es la más segura, con zonas rurales donde solamente se reportó lesiones y robo a casa habitación sin violencia.
Entre Enero y Septiembre 2007 el número de denuncias aumentó 12 % respecto al mismo período que en 2006. Se le han asignado 280 policías de "excelencia" sin embargo, con los resultados indicados.
En 2007 se registraron 571 robos a cuenta habientes bancarios, resultando en 38 heridos y 8 muertos. Las colonias mas afectadas fueron: Narvarte, Del Valle, Santa Cruz Atoyac, Paseos de Churubusco, Paseos de Taxqueña y Unidad Lindavista, de acuerdo a SSPDDF
En 2007 hubo 61 asaltos bancarios. La mayoría en Benito Juárez y Coyoacán. HSBC encabeza la lista con 25 asaltos, seguido de Bancomer con 8 y Bansefi con 6.
En Colonia Roma el índice delictivo aumentó 8 % en los últimos 9 meses de 2007. El problema más frecuente: robo a transeúnte, robo a negocio sin violencia y robo de auto sin violencia. FOR OUR INTERNATIONAL AUDIENCE

By eliminating the growing problem of vendors in the Perímeter A, the number of crime incidents was reduced to a significant 22 % according to the Metro PD (SSPDF). From Oct. 12 to Dec. 18, 2007 some 527 criminals were detained, mostly accused of theft to pedestrian and drug pushing.
In 2007, the Attorney General documenetd 112 kidnappings in Mexico City. Most of these were committed in Delegaciones Iztapalapa & Gustavo A. Madero. From January to December 2007 101 individuals were sent to prison for this crime and 12 gangs were dismantled.
These two precincts (delegaciones) are the ones who reflected the lowest crime stats during the last few months of 2007. Milpa Alta is the safest, as it consists of vast rural areas where a few reports were received for lesions and thefts to private property without violence.
Between January to September 2007 the number of complaints increased by 12 % in reference to same period in 2006. Del Valle has received 280 "elite" police officers to patrol this area. However, results are as shown.
